Next step couponing trip

I have a confession. I've been following some couponing blogs. Since I'm a teacher, my salary goes on hold for a few months a year. This year I decided to be money wise during those months so I've researched to watch how people do the extreme couponing tricks. Yes, extreme couponing is nuts but I think that I'm wanting to be money wise and budget our family better. Tonight, I did my first trip with the intentions to utilize my coupons with a low total at the end and I had my best savings yet. I didn't  calculate how much my trip was going to be but my goal was to save more than 50% of what I would've spent. I did exactly that. The original total was $28.01 and I walked out paying $10.09.
How?
I stacked one target coupon with a manufacturer's coupon from the Sunday paper or print out from coupon websites like coupons.com
What did I buy?
Basically, if this was a normal shopping trip $10 would only have bought my yogurts alone. On today's trip I bought Lysol all purpose cleaner, shampoo/conditioner, strawberry shortcake band aides, panty liners, nail file, eye liner, and 10 yogurts. I planned on a few other things but I didn't organize my shopping list well enough. Overall, I'm satisfied with this trip.

Yogurt 10/$6 - $0.50 target coupon/10 yogurts - $0.50 manufacturer's coupon /8 yogurts = $5
Dove $3.49/shampoo & conditioner $2 off 2 products =$2.49 each
Revlon eyeliner $3.99 - $1 target coupon - $5 catalina (coupons that came out of the store's register at
a previous purchase). This gave me a $2 overage toward other things.
Revlon nail file $2.99-$1 manufacturer's coupon= free w/overage
Carefree Panty Liner $0.99 - Free 20 count panty liner package manufacturer's coupon from a previous Sunday paper = free
Nexcare Band Aides $1.68 - $1 target coupon -$0.50 manufacturer's coupon = free w/overage

Here is a list of the couponing blogs I follow:
http://www.mycouponteacher.com/
http://www.couponing101.com/
http://moneysavingmom.com/
http://www.motherhoodonadime.com/
http://www.totallytarget.com/

These blogs basically sort out the coupons for you. They put in the 60 hours a week and I put in the time to clip my coupons (10 minutes), sort them in my accordion file (10/15 maybe 20 minutes b/c I have to shoo away a few kids), match as closely to listed sales and coupon deals of the things that I need (I just keep checking it Sun-Tues at a glance which might add up to an hour) and then I go and buy my stuff. Have you tried any tricks? Do you follow blogs that are not listed and are good? Am I the only one?

P.S Today I saved $0.10 per gallon at Shell too! How? I've been shopping at Ralphs. Everytime you rack up 100 points you get 10cents off /gallon at the Shell pump. If you print your receipt and give it to the register when you go shopping, it doubles your points on your ralph's reward card. $1= 1point. Raph's is nice to shop at too b/c they double your coupons. So if I have a $0.50 coupon, it's really = to $1.
